About YOGA...

Yoga is a sacred art and total health science revealed by enlightened sages and masters thousands of years ago. The word yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning union – a spiritual discipline to harmonise the body, mind and spirit. The emphasis of Hatha Yoga (from the path of Raja Yoga) is on physical postures (asanas) and breathing exercices (pranayama) which aim to still the mind, strengthen and revitalise the body and enliven the spirit.

Through regular practise, yoga brings endless physical benefits to the body including alleviated back tension, greater flexibility of the spine, stronger arms and legs and all over toning and strengthening of the body. However, this sacred practise goes so much deeper than just the physical, as in every yoga pose or breath technique you are working on a physical level, and also on a physiological, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual level!

Yoga gives us a deep sense of body awareness as all yoga poses (asanas) bring deep physiological benefits ranging from balancing our hormones; massaging internal organs to nourish and detoxify and calming nerves to reduce stress.

On a more subtle level, yoga opens and balances our chakras or energy centres situated along the spine in the astral body, bringing a higher vibration to each cell of the body and allowing us to vibrate with health and vitality!

Mentally, yoga improves concentration and clarity as well as increased alertness and optimism. Emotionally, yoga helps us feel more confident, motivated, relaxed, happy and more balanced in life. Spiritually, one can let go of old patterns or blockages and start to open ourselves deep within...
